>FIGHT CHOLESTEROL WITH PECTIN

More pectin, please!

Many of us are used to thinking of food as something nourishing and tasty to eat, but food is more than that. Our food may also help prevent certain ailments.

Research has shown that certain properties in particular foods may prevent disease. For example, the substance called pectin is thought to hold down cholesterol.

Pectin is fibrous matter that acts like a glue and holds cells together in plants. Pectin is found in many fruits and unlike cholesterol-lowering prescription drugs, it does not have any side effects.

Here are some pectin-rich fruits you may be able to grow in your garden:
Toad's Tips
Beta-carotene Crops
Vitamin C Crops

Tips To Avoid Back Pain

Tart Apples
Sour Plums
Concord Grapes
Gooseberries
Any Citrus Fruit (Pectin is found in the white rind)

Citrus fruits require warmer sunny climates--or a greenhouse.

Happy growing and munching!
